Hi, my name is Amy Marchant and I am reporting from 2nd Woolwich scout group. I
want to share my experience with you when I did the promise on the common. We
join together to celebrate St. Georges day. We built tents and had lunch
together, and then we walked around the common with our 2nd Woolwich flags. I
had a great day.
Thank you.
Hello, this is Carl reporting from 2nd Woolwich scout group.
On Saturday 24 of April, scouts from all over Woolwich gathered on Plumstead
Common for an event called 'Promise on the common Scouts, beavers, cubs and
explorers all went to join the fun of landing wooden planes on a plank of wood
(aircraft carrier) gladiators, assault course and many more. After that, we
talked about St George’s day, sang God Save the Queen, and everyone said their
promises.
Thank you
The 2nd Woolwich scout group has been to the promise on the common, with other
people from other groups. They all played games such as land the plane, hit each
other of the plank and the obstacle course (record 20secs).We really liked going
for 5 hrs including putting up tents (mine took the longest to put up) it was
really windy and it kept blowing our tent away. It made us all laugh, we renewed
our promise and sang the national anthem, and all in all it was a great day.
That ends my report Ralph Ilett.
Summer Camp 08
Welcome to 2nd Woolwich news. Last august all of 2nd Woolwich travelled to Essex for their group camp. Beavers, cubs and scouts had a weekend full of fun. This included rock climbing, archery, assault course, pond dipping and much more. We all slept in tents and had a camp fire on Saturday where we sang songs and toasted marshmallows.

One sunny weekend in October the Woolwich scouts joined other scouts in a
camping competition. This included putting up tents, fire lighting, cooking
there own meals and doing mini challenges to gain points. The 2nd all girl group
triumphed over the 2nd boys coming 3rd place over all.

STRIKE
On
December 19th 2008, second Woolwich scout group went bowling.
We went on 2 buses, one to get there & one to get back again, all supervised by
the scout leaders Graham, Lorraine & Laura. We had loads of fun bowling, while
the machine could not take anymore strikes! We had a good time eating our meals.
We had candy floss afterwards.
Good bye, this report is finished.

December 19th 2008 2nd Woolwich scouts went Bexleyheath tenpin bowling. First we took one bus there and another back. Lorraine, Graham and Laura supervised the scouts. When they got there they changed footwear then started playing the game. If only the machine had kept going our scouts were so good the machine could not cope. I of course came second the only person that beat me was much older than me.
Here finishes my report

Showtime full of fun
Showtime is a district event for scout, brownies and guides. it all started with
auditions in October. where there were three stages, acting, dance and singing,
then a short talk with Michael the producer it was time to go home and wait for
a letter to see if they successful or not. Several weeks later a letter arrived
letting the lucky ones know there in. Rehearsals started in January in Plumcroft
School every Sunday. Everyone worked hard, made lots of new friends and had fun.
On the final dress rehearsal two Jack petchey awards were given to Sarah and
George from 2nd Woolwich scouts for outstanding achievement. Everyone was given
their gang show scarf’s. On the first night of the show everyone was both
excited and nervous about performing on stage in front of the audience. as the
show nights progressed people felt more at ease. Everyone had loads of fun.
Awards were given out every night including one for smiling. at the close of the curtains on the final night everyone was sad as it was all over and they had to say goodbye to all the new friends they had made and wait another two years to do it all again
